More than a few people have expressed disappointment that Apple's latest revision of Mac OS X doesn't include Java 6. Naturally, a number of responses defending Apple have been written, some of which (such as John Gruber's) make pretty sensible arguments about why Java 6 didn't make the cut.

But he looks more than a little silly when he says I fail to see why anyone (other than Java developers themselves) would care — as though he's surprised that Java developers are the primary people interested in the Java Development Kit. At least he's consistent: he goes on to explain that the inclusion of Ruby 1.8.6 was tremendously exciting for Scheme programmers, and that Core Animation is really turning heads in the prepress industry.
