The unbearable awfulness of "enterprise" software

I don't think I'd ever heard of turducken before this week, and then it seemed to pop up everywhere, including The Daily Show. Meanwhile, Khoi Vinh wonders why IBM is advertising Lotus Notes as some sort of farmyard Frankenstein's monster:

It's just perfect that Lotus Notes, an application whose awkward integration of multiple feature sets I've only ever heard spoken about with violent disgust, promotes itself as freakish software.
