The clipboard, for programmers

Sticking with the "better late than never" theme, I recently noticed after writing a comment on a blog post about copy and paste errors that I had replied 151 days later. Oops. I hate it when I do that. Anyway, it was something I've meant to write on my own blog for years, so I'm going to repeat it here.

I've always thought that the clipboard in any programmer's editor should follow these two rules:

• No Copy. Only Cut.
• Paste clears the clipboard.

But maybe that's just me.
