Every now and then, somebody sees one too many less-than signs and decides that XML needs to be fixed. Late last year, Kevin drew my attention to Tanga, which was briefly known as "Not Bunk Markup Language" because it came from that kind of frustration.

This time it's Kuro5hin's tmoertel. He says he'll be working with it for a project or two to see how he likes it; I'll be interested to see if he maintains interest for longer than the Tanga folks, who (judging from the Sourceforge project) lost interest almost as soon as they started.
