The Lurker
Search engine referrals
I'm seeing a lot of scary search engine queries appear in my referrer logs lately.
There have been dozens of hits for "rtvscan.exe", which I mentioned a few weeks ago was using massive amounts of CPU time on Monday mornings. (I received an email out of the blue from somebody I don't know explaining how to stop it. I'd figured it out since posting to my blog about it, but I think I'll go back and add his comments to that entry because it looks like people will keep hitting it.)
But this takes the cake: what do I do when my domain controller won't boot
. Whoever you are, I hope you found something more informative than my rant.
I'd already added an update to my inaccessible_boot_device rant linking to a Microsoft knowledge base article on how to edit the registry belonging to a Windows installation on another hard drive. Hopefully the many people running across this problem who stumble onto my blog have seen it and can figure out what they need to do from the two knowledgebase articles. Good luck to you lot too. (Oh, and try Debian some day.)
Other interesting searches:
- Information on weasels (heh)
- Rogue Train
- "WHAT DOES E-BAY MEAN" (oh dear — I doubt my completely stupid E Bay page was very helpful)
- "linux is shithouse" (I use all three of these words quite regularly, but generally not so arranged)
